Frequently Asked Questions.

-How much does a custom thirsty lake tileworks piece cost?
Your costs are determined by four main factors: design, materials, complexity of production, and installation. Accent pieces may begin at $100. A 2' x 2' inlay for an entryway may start at $500.
A large backsplash may run several thousand dollars. As each piece is a unique design based on the clients desires and needs,  we will provide an itemized estimate after discussing the project with you.
Sarah occasionally has artworks for sale which may be displayed without permanent installation.
Contact her and watch for blog announcements regarding new un-commissioned work.

-Does Sarah do any tile and mosaic work outside of Montana?
She loves to work with people across the U.S . and abroad to design accent pieces, floor inlays and any other type of custom work. Most pieces are produced in the thirsty lake tileworks studio in downtown Bozeman, and then transported/shipped to the site for installation by Sarah or another qualified professional.

-Does the client need to provide a design or does Sarah prefer doing only her own creations?
Sarah will work with clients to ensure a project suits their taste, the location, and the budget. You can certainly bring design ideas and images or she can create options. She will help clients understand the process using drawings, making samples or models when required.

-Is it possible to replace an existing floor or backsplash with a thirsty lake tileworks design?
Yes! We enjoy assisting clients making their individual spaces more beautiful. You or your contractor are responsible for preparation, which is best explained with a site visit.
