Had a quick look at the new bathroom today; will go back next week & add a few more blossoms to the other walls. Hope to have time for a GFC while I'm at it.
I have been buried in planning for 3 different wonderful projects. Now I can also get to making something - this 48"x14" piece will be going into a shower wall as part of a complete master bathroom remodel. I am loving this - there are at least 20 different shades of smalti involved. I have had a few problems with my e-mail server lately. Hopefully all is fixed now but sorry if your messages were bouncing back; and please try again?! (photo: seaweed & rocks, Mangawhai NZ.) Just a little grout & the cherry tree will be ready to go to Missoula. On thursday the 14th I will be at the studio from 3 to 6pm for anyone who wants to stop by & see it. 435 E Main Street in the McPhie Cabinetry Showroom. Call me at 406.249.8747 if you can't make it at that time & we will arrange another, or wait & see it in Plonk whilst checking that the martinis are as good as Bozeman's! This is the fabulous ring saw that makes my life better. And despite the warning sticker it is not easy to cut fingers off with a wet saw. They are best for cutting hard objects (though fingernails can get nicked if you aren't careful!). The mosaic is being made in 5 pieces. I am setting as much as I can in the studio & leaving out tiles on the perimeter of each section & at strategic spots where it will be fastened to the wall studs. It looks like my work table is not going to be big enough!?! lots of smalti flowers - This will be a wall piece 8' by 6'6". I have it laid out next to my studio (behind the curtain) so can keep track of how it is coming along flower by flower. I am awaiting the go-ahead on a new, exciting project. Samples have been made & drawings approved. Here's to a productive and busy new year! Just in time for snow, the final supporters tiles were installed. Thanks to everyone involved; I hope the drinking fountain will be loved for many years. |
