bio
Sarah Anderson was born in New Zealand in 1968.
After graduating from the University of Auckland, B.A. (english literature)
she travelled extensively, spending two years in Africa and living
in London, England between adventures. Returning to New Zealand to
study photography, she began to focus her energies on the visual and practical
arts, which was again interrupted by travel in North & Central America.
In 1996 Sarah and her husband arrived in the Tobacco Valley in Northwest Montana.
While exploring the medium of clay for the first time she realized the potential of combining the creative with the functional, and began the process of learning to make tiles.
This led to an interest of all tile related things and Sarah has been working
installing tile & stone & making mosaics ever since.
Sarah is a member of the National Tile Contractors
Association and the Society of
American Mosaic Artists.
